Here's a great app to allow your kids the chance to create a digital postcard! It is called "Bill Atkinson PhotoCard". I have used it as a great way to culminate our penpal project. You could have students write a letter to an author, write a postcard from a book character's point of view, or write a letter to their penpal. We wrote to our penpals in Texas and then printed them and sent them. This app also has the ability to email the postcards if we would be set up to do that. Skills that were reinforced with this project were: taking pictures with the iPad, searching and saving images, manipulating through the app, letter writing, and proofreading.

The sixth grade at LaFontaine have used the ipads on Mondays and Wednesdays the first semester. We have found more uses for them as we've become more comfortable with their operation and knowing what resources to use. There are many good apps to supplement our science techbook.
