Our Profile


MSD of Wabash County serves students in five townships (except that portion of Noble Township which comprises Wabash City Schools) of southern Wabash County, covering 292 square miles in a beautiful, rural/small town environment.

The district consists of six schools with about 2100 students. There are three elementary schools and three junior-senior high schools. One of the high schools is White's Jr.-Sr. High School which provides education for approximately 190 students from across the state who are residents at White's Residential and Family Services as a result of a court placement. In addition, the district is the LEA for special education services to students in four school districts.

The district offers a comprehensive curriculum featuring Readers Workshop, Response to Intervention, Writing Units of Study, Counseling/Remediation program, Title I program, STEAM and Makerspace activities, gifted/talented program, Advanced Placement courses, online learning, Career Based Programing (Agriculture, Family & Consumer Science, Business, Industrial Arts), partner with Heartland Career Center, Fine Arts program, and an expansive summer school curriculum.  MSD has approximately four hundred employees (teacher contracts.)

Standardized test scores exceed national and state averages resulting in several Four Star school awards and school improvement awards. Also, students are very successful in a variety of academic competitions. Grauation rates are well above the state average, typically over 90%. 

All school facilities are modern and in excellent condition. Technology is an integral part of instruction as we are a one-to-one district. All K-2 students have iPads and each student grades 3-12 have MacBooks. All buildings are networked with audio, data, and video communications.  


Wabash County is located in northeastern Indiana convenient to Fort Wayne, South Bend, Kokomo, and Marion. MSD of Wabash County is one of three school districts in the county. Wabash has a population of about 11,000 and features the Honeywell Center. The school district includes the small communities of Roann, Urbana, Lagro, LaFontaine, and Somerset. Otherwise, the area is largely agricultural and features small businesses.

There are many educational opportunities available at nearby Manchester College, Indiana Wesleyan and Ivy Tech State College. The community is also well known for its many recreational opportunities for youth and adults. Two large reservoirs are located in the county for water recreational activities.
