Message From Dr. Weaver

Our mission is to build the mind and character of every student to produce positive citizens for the 21st century. As I start my fourth year as superintendent, I continue to marvel at the level of respect demonstrated by our students. We have the opportunity to work with outstanding young people!
The Metropolitan School District of Wabash County has a staff that is unrivaled in their dedication. Our bus drivers greet students each morning with a warm smile and deliver them to their door with a wish for a great evening. Our custodians have faced a herculean task this year and have sailed through with flying colors. Our food service staff provides smiles along with healthy choices of menu items to ensure our students have enough nourishment to stay focused on learning all day. We have wonderful classroom assistants who offer extra help to students and supervise playgrounds, media centers, and cafeterias. Our office staff keeps each building running smoothly and is that calming voice on the phone during busy days. Coaches are at practices long hours helping our student athletes perform at top levels. Our teachers and administrators are unsurpassed in their continual efforts to make sure all students succeed everyday.
Often we hear about teachers only working nine months a year. I have been in buildings this summer and seen our teachers diligently preparing for the coming year. We have teachers working on new curriculum, new technology, and in new buildings. Teachers have been involved in professional development during the summer as they anticipate this school year. Our teachers are dedicated to our students during the school year and beyond!
We need parents, staff, and community members working together as we strive for greater student success. I urge you to get involved in the important task of children’s education. If you can volunteer in classrooms, please call your nearest school. Ask yourself how you can be part of making this the best year for students at Metropolitan School District of Wabash County.
Our schools are strong which leads to a strong community with a strong future!

Metropolitan School District of Wabash County was one of only 22 school districts of 135 that applied to receive the prestigious Classroom Innovation Grant. The IDOE believes M. S. D. of Wabash County will promote educational innovation through the use of technology.
