"I've always loved to read.  If I had a book to read, I was always entertained.  Growing up, my love of reading was fostered by discussing books with my grandparents and parents, and then a best friend.  As I've gotten older, I can recognize that reading and writing skills have unlocked doors for me throughout my life.  My why is to help my students realize the doors they can unlock by improving their reading and writing skills so that they can lead more enjoyable, rewarding lives."
